I have a very practical question for both students and teachers. Nowadays, we spend a lot of time talking to people online. It's vital to have a good microphone headset or noise-cancelling microphone, so that both the student and teacher can be heard clearly, without any echoes or background noise. Do you have any recommendations on the best product to buy (or the worst ones to avoid)? Any suggestions you can give would be very much appreciated.

Certainly, having a good microphone headset or noise-cancelling microphone is crucial for clear communication during online interactions, especially for students and teachers. There are several reputable options available on the market. However, it's important to note that product availability and specific models may change over time, so it's a good idea to check for the latest reviews and recommendations. I used to use the basic Sony headphones, but then I switched to my laptop's speakers. No need to buy expensive equipment if your environment is quite.

I use a Jabra conference speaker for my lessons. I also find wearing a headset uncomfortable for many hours in a row. The microphone quality is good enough as is the noise cancellation. Something to consider I would say.

Either get some expensive headphones from Best Buy or game stop or get better internet connection cause yours is probably lagging which can cause a lot of that or just turn it down you won’t hear it as much cause your phone or computer can be trying to keep up with what people are saying which gets louder and cause a echo but I would recommend better internet for the most part

I always just use the built-in speaker on my laptop. I’m not a a tech guy, so my philosophy is always to use the fewest components possible to minimize possible points of failure. Sure, sometimes maybe a student has heard a sink run or a door close, but it has never been an issue. Also headsets look dorky. Got to look cool to teach cool 😎
