rip it up!!! I know [tear it up] has the meaning of "succeed". Can [rip it up] be also used as the meaning of "succeed"? A baseball player has reached to an agreement with a club of the USA. When he leaves for the USA, can I say "Rip it up!!"? When a singer is waiting for his turn backstage, can I say "Rip it up!!!"? Thank you in advance!!

I'm a native English speaker, US. To me this is not a very common idiom.

But, "let 'er rip" means to do something without constraint. Unfortunately, it's sometimes used to refer to farting. Oh, the base usage of slang within human language. 🤷‍♂️

No, "rip it up" does not have the same meaning as "tear it up".
