Exam task:
You have just completed six months in a new job. In preparation for a progress meeting, you have been asked to write a report to your manager.
Your report should explain what you feel you have achieved in the job so far, describe any problems you have had, and suggest any future training that would be suitable.
Answer:
The purpose of this report is to inform my manager about my experience working for the company Kanzu over the course of the last six months. Taking this into consideration, this report will be focused on three aspects: the achievements I did, the inconvenient I found and provide adequate ideas for any future training for the new incorporations.
After having been in the company for several months, the use of the purchasing software represented a hard task to handle. That made me take the initiative and search for a tutorial on the internet that allowed me to comprehend how it works. As a result, two months later, I was able to command the program and many co-workers were asking me how to make use of some unknown functions of the software.
It was not only the aforementioned obstacle, but also the lack of communication with other departments. When you phone them, they never answer your calls, neither they reply your e-mails and you have to insist them until you got response. That affects the flow of the processes you are in charge of and, as a consequence, it delays the expedients that customers are claiming for since several months.
In light of the above, I would strongly recommend Human Resources Department to provide a manual to the new personnel in order to address their responsibilities with efficiency. In addition, it would be advisable to implement a communication plan to tackle the problem of communication between departments. These suggestions are based on my personal experience and I convinced that they would help new workers in the company.
