This article will help students save time and money by taking the guesswork out of choosing the right English language for them. Based on questions I've been asked by students, there's a real need for this information.
The article omits to mention CPE (Cambridge Proficiency) which is the C2 test in the Cambridge suite of exams. It's been going since 1913, so it's a shame to ignore it.
Another correction:
The article says that if you fail a Cambridge or Michigan exam you 'won't have anything to show for it'.
This is not the case for Cambridge exams. If you fail to make the grade at at B2 test but show B1 ability, for example, you will receive a B1 certificate.
Su.Ki.: Thank you for correcting my oversight in regard to Cambridge's scoring system. That's valuable information for students to know.
There are so many language exams that it would be impossible, if not exceedingly boring and unnecessary, to make an extensive list of every language exam in existence today. I mentioned the CAE (C1). Do you know that the main difference between that and the CPE (C2) is the level?
