advantages and disadvantages between a nuclear and extended family hi! I make an essay about that and I would like somebody to correct my mistakes. Thanks! People have to consider and take into account the advantages and disadvantages of living with thier nuclear family or with their extended family. In some cases, families feel a little bored about sharing conversatiosn and moments only with their parents, brothers and sisters. In other cases, they need more privacy and they are tired of having an extended family. They try to think about how different or similar life could be with or without the company of each family. Living with their nuclear or extended family has different but beneficial advantages. On the one hand, nuclear families can create stronger bonds and a stable environment that give children a higher probability of having stability in their relationships and emotional bonds. Furthermore a family provides a sense of consistence, a better knowledge of each member of the group because they are usually closer than in extended families. On the other hand, having the support of an extended family helps parents to cope with childcare or economic difficulties. Also, they can learn about different points of view, sharing opinions and having a close relationship with relatives. These two ways to live also have their bad points or disadvantage. In the case of a nuclear family sometimes they need other relatives to rely on and talk about their problems because they will help them whenever they need. However, living with the extended family has problems too, as the lack of privacy and conflicts or fights about the use of some things. For example, when grandparents want to watch a TV programme and their grandchildren do not. In conclusion, families have different ways of coexistence. Some need the company of an extended family and others prefer the intimacy and closeness of a nuclear family. Both have their advantages and disadvantages but they are essential necessary units.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of a Nuclear versus an Extended Family

Hi!  I wrote an essay about that and I would like somebody to correct my mistakes. Thanks!

People should consider and take into account the advantages and disadvantages of living in a nuclear family or with their extended family.  In some cases, a person may feel a little bored spending time and having conversations only with their parents, brothers and sisters.  In other cases, they may need more privacy and get tired of living with an extended family.  One wonders how different it would be with the other kind of family.
Each kind of family has advantages.  On the one hand, nuclear families can create stronger bonds and a stable environment that may give children more stability in their relationships and emotional bonds. Furthermore a family provides a sense of consistency, a better knowledge of each member of the group because they are usually closer than in extended families.  On the other hand, the support of an extended family helps parents to cope with childcare or economic difficulties.  Also, they can learn about different points of view, sharing opinions and having a close relationship with more relatives.
These two ways to live also have their bad points.  In the case of a nuclear family, sometimes they need other relatives to rely on, and talk about their problems. because they will help them whenever they need. However, living with an extended family has problems too, such as lack of privacy, and conflicts or fights about the use of some things.  For example, if the grandparents want to watch a TV programme (<em>In the US this is spelled "program"</em>) and their grandchildren do not.
In conclusion, the two types work differently.  Some people need the company of an extended family, while others prefer the intimacy and closeness of a nuclear family.  They have their advantages and disadvantages, but either way, families are very important.
