I’ve changed my mind about this question over the years because there isn’t an absolute rule for every situation when it comes to deciding whether to give up on something or not.
I used to believe that we should always push ourselves through difficulties because opportunities are valuable, and at the very least, we can learn from our failures. This is true, but it may not apply to everyone or every stage of life.
Nowadays, I increasingly agree with the idea that giving up or not giving up is simply a choice based on the situation. It’s not—and shouldn’t be—a big deal in the grand scheme of life. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself; life is full of regrets, and in most cases, you’ll get a second chance.
I prefer to approach life in a peaceful and easygoing way. So, I believe we can choose to give up if that’s what feels right.
