This is such a bad song. Please don't trouble yourself to understand it. The majority simply makes fun of it's simpleton lyrics. It's "popular" because it's so bad. To answer your question: "gotta get down on Friday" means: Subject: understood "I" Gotta = Have to Get down = party/relax/have a good time on Friday = All of this will occur on Friday It really doesn't have that deep of a meaning other than it's literal meaning. She wants to party on Friday... woooo

From the song's lyrics, the singer is waiting for Friday to arrive because she wants to have a good time on the week end.

I don't know the song, but people will say 'gatta get down' when they mean they should do something. By itself, it would mean that the person wants to party and or dance.
