Hello May, I found this question quite difficult to explain. I have however tried to give you an explanation of the difference between the two. I hope this helps.
The definition of 'light' is 'electromagnetic radiation by which things are visible', light is a visible source of electricity, for example if you switch on the 'light' socket of a room (this is usually on the wall and the source of 'light' tends to be the electricity bulb hanging from the ceiling in the centre on the room), the room becomes illuminated in light.
Of course you can also make things visible by the use of torchlight and candlelight
A 'lamp' is an appliance that produces the light, for example a table lamp, bedside lamp or lamppost (street light).
