Pronouncing "G" in Dutch I've listened to various youtube videos and they all sound a little different. I am unsure how to pronounce the "G" for Dutch. Any advice?

For me as a learner, it sounds like "kh" instead of "h"

Also note that there is some variation in how "g" is pronounced in different parts of the Netherlands. Maybe that's why the videos sound slightly different. It's one of the signs we use to tell which region someone is from.

Breath out slowly. Put your lips in the position of the vowel i: the mouth is broad but the vertical opening is small. While breathing out, close your throat, in such a way that you feel the pressure on your lungs waiting to breath out, if only your throat were to allow the air to pass. Now if you succeed to close your throat slowly, you will hear a funny noise just when the opening is about to close, as if you are choking. This noise is a good approximation of the Dutch g sound.

Hallo Alifa, The best way for you to pronounce the Dutch 'G' is 'kh'. The problem is that there are several ways of pronouncing it, so there might be some confusion on what's officially correct. But don't worry about that, if you use 'kh' for the Dutch 'g' you are pretty close to pronouncing it correctly.

I think my problem is the amount of air I use in pronunciation. I use too much when trying to say 'G'.
