If you're talking about anything other than money, the warning about saying "oh" when we mean "zero" still holds. Usually this comes up when someone is giving their telephone number or address.
When they outsourced a lot of the phone help lines to India, a lot of Indian workers on the phone didn't know about that and interpreted the "oh" in a number as the letter "O". It took a while for that to work itself through the system.
