借りる て - form confusion. Which verb group is it in? I'm learning about verb groups and it seems that 借りる should be Group 1, and conjugate to 借って, but I'm seeing online that it's て-form is actually 借りて。Is it actually a Group 3 unusual verb?

We usually say 借りる+て is "借りて" . It is pronounced "かりて". 借って is not right. 借りて consists of 借りる and て. 借りる means "borrow", and て means "and". For example, 私は図書館で本を借りて,自宅で過ごした。means I borrowed books in the library and stayed home.

借りる(KARI/RU) belongs to Group 2. When you conjugate Group 2 verb, you should drop off "RU" part and put 「て」「ない」「ます」etc. 借りて→借りて 借りない 借ります 借りたい 借りよう

hello! i’m japanese university students. (i’m not good at english 💦i know groups first time 💦 but i will write which things i can explain!) 借りる ↓ 借りて○ 借って× 借 this chines character =か と読みます! 借って “かって”となってしまいます💦 (使うときには、かりる、かりて、かりたい、かり〇〇 と使います!) 売る 売って○ 売=う 焼く 焼いて○ 焼って× 焼=や やいて がやってになってしまいます! 頼む 頼んで○ 頼って× 頼=たの 少し理屈では難しいので😂🤯🤯覚える方が近道かもしれません💦
