My job is to support, encourage and guide you towards your destination. I'm a big fan of study skills and will encourage you to develop these so that you can become more independent as a language learner. As part of this, I help you to set an achievable goal and create a study plan that will move you towards it step by step. My overall belief about language learning is that it should be a rewarding process. Yes, you may need to work hard to achieve your goals, but that doesn't mean that the journey can't be enjoyable.

Choosing a teacher, the first thing I do is calculate the returning student ratio: Divide the total lessons by the number of students, then subtract 1 (as the 1st lesson isn’t a returning student). Pronunciation is my favorite “hack” — master it now, before learning thousands of words with bad pronunciation, and your path will be a lot easier. It’s not so much about accent, but we really need to prioritize pronunciation, because your pronunciation is the pronunciation you expect to hear, so if your pronunciation is off, your listening will be 10x more difficult. Fix your pronunciation now, and you’ll be a lot happier!
