I have been working as a private Portuguese-English teacher since June 2023.

Linguist and professional teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. I've been working as a language teacher for over 10 years and have taught several languages, including Portuguese, Galician, Asturian, Spanish, Valencian/Catalan, Occitan, French, Italian, Latin, Greek (both Ancient and Modern), and Nheengatu. Disfruto mucho hablar sobre viajes, culturas, costumbres, y específicamente de temas como desarrollo personal, prácticas de bienestar, organización, productividad, emprendedorismo, hábitos y espiritualidad, con los cuales tengo un buen camino recorrido. He coordinado mi propio grupo presencial de conversación español-portugués por más de 3 años, por lo cual tengo experiencia activando conversaciones y proponiendo temas disparadores. Actualmente soy co-host del “Grupo Poliglota de Campinas”. Además soy estudiante activa en Italki y he realizado durante varios años intercambios de idiomas a través de diferentes plataformas web.

As a teacher, I believe in creating a comfortable and engaging environment where students feel confident to speak and express themselves. My approach is student-centered, focusing on the needs and interests of each individual. I encourage my students to take an active role in their learning by choosing topics they are passionate about. This way, our lessons become more meaningful and motivating. During the lessons, I prioritize building the student’s confidence by providing gentle corrections in writing without interrupting their speech. My goal is to help students expand their vocabulary, improve pronunciation, and develop fluency in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

Uma das coisas que mais gosto de fazer é compartilhar com outras pessoas aquilo que sei. Ser professora, para mim, é esse gesto de partilha, antes de tudo. Ensino literatura em cursos livres em São Paulo (Brasil), mas também já dei aulas de conversação em português e espanhol. One of my favorite things is to share what I know with others. Being a teacher, for me, is this gesture of sharing, above all. I teach literature in São Paulo (Brazil), but I've also taught conversation classes in Portuguese and Spanish.

It´s important for me, as the time goes passed, that the student can be able to communicate in Portuguese and that he can speak with confidence. This way, my classes can be adapted to the student´s goals. As a teacher, my role is to guide and motivate so it would be more comfortable communicate in Portuguese.

Graduated in Literature at the Federal University of Bahia, I worked in the state and federal schools in the city of Salvador / BA. I have experience as a coordinating assistant in a course on Education in Human Rights (Distance Education modality), and I was also a pedagogical coordinator at OSCIP De Peito Aberto. I teach Portuguese in an informal way, without judging right or wrong, but focusing on friendly and functional conversation, avoiding problems and losses in communication.
