Hoi! Ik ben Coen en ik ben 45 jaar oud. Living in Mexico City and a Dutch Teacher for 5 years now. I live with my wife and our son Alec in a nice neighbourhood and besides Dutch I teach English. My clients are private students, some Dutch companies and I work for the Dutch embassy where I teach some of the local staff. On weekends I normally do a lot of outdoor activities. Hence I run a small outdoor agency in outdoor adventures. I am an outgoing person and before Mexico I lived in Spain for a couple of years. I also made some big travels backpacking and by motorbike. I like to spend time with my family and friends and to go camping and exploring for us unknown parts of Mexico.

Minha atuação como professor

I am a relaxt teacher and very aware about the difilculties of my language. So I am patient with you but as well I expect you do do your homework and study in your own time. Dutch is a language your not going to learn only by taking some classes. You need to practice a lot and to be motivated. I like to make jokes and laugh and after a couple of classes I will interview you every class about what you have done since the last time we've seen each other so you are prepared for the real Dutch live (we always want to know everything from everybody).

Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino

In general we will follow a method called Taal Vitaal. Specially made for people who want to obtain the Dutch citizinship so besides grammar and vocabulaire their is information about the Dutch culture and customs, so there are a couple of books so normally we start A1. I have a lot of extra material as well which I mix with the method. And if your goal is to be prepared for a business trip or just a vacation we customize our class.

I completed around 30 lessons with Coen, all engaging and entertaining. He has a lot of patience and good mood, and I never felt stupid for making mistakes (it happened with other teachers). So I highly recommend! I'm around B1 level, so our lessons were mainly conversation, reading grammar and making some exercises.
