Maki

I’ve been taking lessons with Maki for a while now and she’s been absolutely lovely and extremely patient. I feel like I have improved in my speaking ability quite a bit since I started taking lessons with Maki. I feel more confident to actually try even if I make many mistakes trying. Maki is highly patient even when I stutter or take a while to make the sentence. She’s also very encouraging and it makes me want to continue to try harder and improve more. At times I have days where I struggle to speak more than others for some reason but Maki simply encourages and is really patient with me. I’ve also learnt a lot with her grammar wise. She explains the grammar points in a way that is easy to understand. Some grammar structures that I used to struggle with have been made so much clearer by Maki’s explanations as well a the speaking practices. I’m very grateful to have found such a lovely tutor and well worth the money :)))

Maki-san is a caring and patient sensei, even if I didn't find the lesson accomplished what I'd hoped for, she's definitely a welcoming sensei and I can see her teaching style working for many students. When I mentioned to her my difficulties with mnemonics, she continued to associate images with hiragana anyway, likely trying to help me despite what I said. I didn't want to appear rude, so I let her continue. I think there may have been some misunderstanding, but she clearly cares about seeing her student make progress and was able to give good advice during the lesson elsewhere, so it was still helpful. Thank you Maki-san, I hope you'll find and help more students in their language learning journeys!
