English TeacherI worked for 1 year as an English teacher in Tokyo (Japan), where I gained a wide range of skills as I had to adapt to a fast-paced environment. This experience taught me how to engage students of different ages and personalities. I also had many 1-to-1 lessons which taught me how to focus my energy on one student's needs. I taught all levels, from elementary to advanced, and I offered courses ranging from conversational English to Business English.
2019 - 2020
English TeacherThis experience prepared me for being a self-employed teacher, as I had to organise the students and lessons on my own. I used a website that enabled me to teach immigrants in London face-to-face. I learned how to get to know each new student and figure out what kind of teaching plan they needed from me. I adapted my lessons in a way that would suit each student's interests and language requirements.
2019 - 2020
English TeacherI taught English online at the same time as providing private tuition in London. Whales English is a Chinese company for children in China. This experience helped me to learn how to teach English and communicate well through an online teaching service.
2019 - 2020
English Teacher (volunteer)This was a volunteering position, nonetheless it was a very enriching experience. It is a charity that helps immigrants and refugees from the Middle East to integrate in British society. Therefore, it taught me how to be more culturally aware and sensitive to students from difficult background. Later, we also moved the lessons online at the start of the pandemic which gave me a substantial experience of teaching adults on Zoom.
