Born in Bogota, capital of Colombia, I moved to Philadelphia quite early in life, along my parents and sister. First in this city and then in NY, I spent most of those fundamental, childhood years in the United States. This is why I'm both a Spanish and English native speaker.
A coming and going in life; returning to Colombia before embarking into new projects both in the US and Europe. Having studied English literature, Philosophy and Sophrology, I have been involved in the field of Pedagogy for most of my life.
I'm a citizen of the world, great admirer and researcher of diverse cultures, cosmologies and languages.Minha atuação como professor
I have more than 30 years of experience teaching languages. This is for me not only a profession, but an intrinsic part of who I am, a spiritual discipline itself.
I combine aspects of the "orthodox" methodology of Berlitz and other renowned centers with whom I worked earlier during my profession, with those of my own, developed as a Sophrologist. The integration of the Supermemory technique has proven to be successful, yielding optimum results in less than half of the time required with conventional methodologies.
The student has an active role during the whole lesson, no matter the level they possess. Empowering the student leads to awareness of vast learning potential.Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
There are three different ones I offer here on Italki:
1) Conversation: As the name says, this one is mainly about speaking. The subject of the conversation is agreed between teacher and student. Goes from the trivial, to the profound interests the student manifests.
2) General lesson: Practicing the Supermemory technique (four readings of same text -teacher & student). Exploring videos on different very interesting topics. Homework might include watching a film, documentary or reading a text.
Needless to say, grammar, vocabulary and emphasis on pronunciation are part of all sessions.
3) Kids: Treated as adults, it is vitally important that they keep motivation intact.Meu material de ensino

Evelyn's super memory technique is very relaxing. She is able to put you in a theta wave state before the practice so that you can read the material in spanish easier and faster than your baseline speed. She also gives great corrective feedback where is needed. The materials she provides are always intriguing and geared towards my interests. I feeling more confident with each lesson I take with her.
