Timothy Hofte Diaz

I have learned a lot of languages on Italki before, but Tim has to be by far my favorite teacher. I look forward to my lesson every time. Even on days when I am not in the mood, learning with Tim puts me in a good mood; he's a great teacher!! He is also experienced in learning languages so he is good at finding examples and rephrasing things to make sure you understand. He also revisits things from the past to check your progression and help you remember what you have learned! Thanks for everything!

Tim is such an professional tutor! He always provides useful feedback and correction to my speaking and grammar practice, and can solve my whatever questions on the Dutch language. Plus, he is very humorous to talk with and the class atmosphere is relaxed. I have enjoyed taking lessons with him where I can feel I am really making fast progress. Dankjewel Tim for your efforts!! :)

Ik ben me aan het voorbereiden op het NT2 B2 spreekexamen.Dit was mijn tweede les met Timothy. Ik ben een erg gestreste student, dus ik vind het vaak moeilijk om antwoord te geven. Maar Timothy is heel rustig en begripvol, hij is niet gehaast of ingewikkeld. Daardoor voel je je meer op je gemak. Tijdens de eerste les heb ik misschien wel 10 minuten gewacht voordat ik antwoord gaf op een vraag, haha! Maar hij zette me helemaal niet onder druk en hielp me door me te motiveren om te antwoorden. Hij maakt aantekeningen tijdens elke les en deelt deze met je. Onderaan schrijft hij ook aanbevelingen, wat heel nuttig is. Zo kun je alles goed zien. Aan het einde van de les geeft hij huiswerk, en in de volgende les gaat hij hierop verder. Hij wijst je fouten op een hele fijne manier aan en legt duidelijk uit wat je moet doen. Als je op zoek bent naar een motiverende, professionele, gestructureerde en rustige leraar, is Timothy echt de perfecte keuze! Heel erg bedankt! 🌸😊

I would say I really enjoy working with my teacher and I can feel my Dutch improving. We have fun conversations which help me to improve my Dutch, and we make jokes (in Dutch), which equally helps my Dutch. Apart from this, we still manage to learn the grammar, and when I do not get something, I just ask and Tim can explain it to me in many ways until I get it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER

I like the teacher because I learn well through his explanations and he has the right balance of friendliness and seriousness. He’s not too strict, but also not too easy on me! I feel my Dutch is finally improving. He takes time to respond to my questions even if I ask him to repeat. We do a lot of examples and exercises and I get to practice a lot in and out of class because of the sufficient homework. I definitely recommend this teacher!
