Hi, my name is Doug. I’m an American from Chicago in the United States. I love getting to know new people from different cultures. That is my favorite part about teaching English to people. That’s why I love teaching English to people from countries all over the world. I have many hobbies. Travel is probably my favorite thing to do. I have nearly 10 years of experience teaching English, as well as significant experience with non-English speakers in general. I taught English in the USA for one year, Spain for one year, and now in Colombia since 2016. I am also certified by Cambridge University to teach English (CELTA).Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
My classes on iTalki are focused on improving fluency and conversation skills. For this reason, my discussion-based classes are appropriate for learners of all levels of English.
My teaching strategy is to engage in discussions that make you think and speak about a variety of deep topics. Ultimately, you are studying English in order to form real relationships. Doug is an excellent teacher who quickly identified and corrected mistakes in my pronunciation and expression. His experience was evident in his ability to pinpoint common errors I make. He effortlessly keeps the conversation flowing and stimulates the student to speak the entire class. I hope to continue improving my fluency and pronunciation with him in the next lessons.
