Just received acceptance letters from Harvard, Columbia, and NYU after working with Alyssa for months. I’ve always found the writing lessons and brainstorming sessions with her incredibly helpful, and it clearly paid off. Alyssa is very resourceful and patient. There were times when I struggled with particular arguments or lines of thought, but Alyssa was very supportive and made me feel comfortable taking the time to reconstruct my thoughts, which has allowed me to improve my critical thinking skills during our time working together. It was a 30-min trial session for academic interview but unexpectedly helpful. During this trial lesson, I got to know Alyssa’s coaching style, asked for some general suggestions, and practiced mock interview with insightful feedback. What’s more, I am much more confident now. Alyssa's lesson plan is very effective. We talked about problem solving and decision making and also had a lighthearted chat on cooking and lifestyle. She is attentive to my mistakes and provide useful feedback too.
