Jina Zhao

Finally, this class finished ;-) in this class we have talked about my recent life. My opinion about new president Biden. The demonstration and protesting in DC. At the same time I learnt the difference between demonstrating and protesting. And Jina corrected me some better word choice like extensive life experiences and motivated student. Also learnt a new idiom “sore loser”. This is the last class with Jina this year. My speaking improved a lot this year. Although Jina not teaches you test skills to pass exam but things learnt from Jina’s class is much more than that. Really appreciate the time of class and material prepared. Look forward to have class with Jina next year!

Jina is really an responsible teacher as well as a good communicator. She has insights in many different topics from international relationships, social issues to music and technology. And she is not only fluent in both English and Chinese but also understanding western and eastern cultures deeply. If you are a Chinese student, trust me, Jina is the best choice. Because learning a language is not just the language itself but the culture and thinking model behind it. Jina is good at interpreting western people’s behavior in a Chinese understandable manner, just like a bridge connecting two cultures. A typical class with Jina is that negotiate a topic at first and then she will find materials like articles, papers, videos related to the topic and sent it to you before class. Therefore you can discussing the topic in the class. In the process of discussing Jina will correcting you and teach you some better word choices. I am really appreciate learning with Jina.

In this class, we’ve talked about American election. compression of the political system of China and United States. Besides, we’ve also talked about the benefits of meditation and some meditation skills. Jina is supportive as usual and provide a lot of insightful thoughts and advises.
