Hi, my name is Nika, I'm from Zagreb, Croatia and I'm looking forward to teach Italian on Italki.
When I was a little girl, my parents brought me a doll from Italy, but not just any doll. It was a long curly hair doll, taller than me, that could walk and sing in Italian!
I think that was the moment I fell in love with the Italian language.
I was so happy when, in high school, I got the opportunity to study Italian as a second foreign language and when it came to choose my major at the university, I had no doubt, or the Italian language and literature or nothing :).

As soon as I graduated, I started working in a language school.
I have worked with people of all ages and of all levels and backgrounds, big groups, small groups and one-on-one.
I can offer you my knowledge, 20 years of experience and a good will to help you in your learning journey.
I like working with people who are dedicated to their goals and who find time to achieve them. I'm really happy when my students learn something new or improve their language skills and this requires seriousness from both (student's and teacher's) sides. However I like my lessons to be relaxed and friendly.

My approach is communicative. I like using texts and videos, I also use specific exercises tailored to your needs.
If you are interested in everyday topics and you like psychology, personal development, how to find calm and happiness in the modern world, healthy lifestyle, relationships, Italian music, movies and TV series, cuisine, unforgettable places to visit etc. we will get along very well :).

Nika is always on time and ready to work! The level of preparation for each lesson we had was extraordinary, and they are always filled with useful information and great exercises which flow seamlessly one after the other. She explains grammar rules (which I detest in any given language) and other difficult matters with ease and patience and simplifies to the last bit until it's understandable to me. She even sees when my concentration is failing and knows how to put me back on track gently.
Since I started taking lessons with Nika it's been noted that my Italian has improved significantly and I have only the highest recommendations for this teacher!
