Shiori-sensei is a very kind, encouraging, and friendly teacher. She listens to you intently and compliments you when you do things well which is very encouraging. She only speaks English when necessary but will allow you to speak English if needed. She is also interested in you as a person and will ask lots of questions which is very nice. Lessons with her are fun and interesting! しおり先生、ありがとうございました！

今日レッスンはチャプタ１７をした。このレッスンはむずかしそうけどしおりさんはやさしくてしてくれました。いつもたのしいですよ。ありがとうございます！

I’ve been learning Japanese with Shiori-sensei for about three years, and she has played a crucial role in my language journey. Before starting with her, I was already an intermediate Japanese speaker. But it was at this level that it became challenging to stay consistent on my own. I decided to try italki, and she was one of the first teachers I trialed. She was the only one I continued with, and I'm so glad I did. She is incredibly flexible, whether it’s discussing any topic of your choice or focusing on specific aspects of Japanese, such as JLPT preparation. She also takes detailed notes on any vocabulary or grammar points I struggled with or learned during each lesson and sends them to me afterward, which has been invaluable. Thanks to her support, I’ve been able to significantly improve my Japanese skills, achieving JLPT N1 and even enrolling in a Japanese university. I’ll always remember my time with Shiori-sensei and the positive impact she had on my learning.
