Hi, my name is Edson. I am from Mozambique. I am an English and Portuguese tutor with 4 years of experience working especially with beginners. I understand that, every beginner needs a structure. So, I create lesson plans with small activities broken down into manageable chunks to help my students absorb and remember everything. I also encourage students to learn from their mistakes because I know that for learners at this level, everything is new and they are bound to make mistakes when they speak and write in English and in Portuguese. However, in my class, mistakes are always welcome because I know that these mistakes lead to learning.Minha atuação como professor
I have 4 years of experience in helping students with Conversational English and Portuguese. I always help my students promote a slew of confidence, because they will actually be holding a conversation with me. Having more speaking confidence will encourage students to speak up during any other lesson or activity, which is always a big goal for me.These talkative lessons will also allow my students to engage in guided discussion.Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
My teaching style is very innovative, since I always plan my lesson according to my student's needs and goals and I also try to understand the student’s interest and create lessons that promote interactions. I know in person how it feels like to learn a new language. In my teaching experience, I also have noticed that getting in the habit of repeating things helps my students understand the lesson and retain key phrases and words better. however, focusing on repeating the same words in my instructions means students with no experience with the Portuguese language will learn those words quickly, and understand better. I'm very happy because I've improved a lot with Edson's help, I have face-to-face classes at an American school here in Florida. And I spent part of the summer studying with Edson.
I managed to go from class A1 straight to class B1 🥳🥳 I didn't need to take class A2.
This is really cool! It's not easy, it's a new challenge but Edson helped me develop and believe in my potential 🙏😊 thank you so much!
