As a teacher, I focus on helping students build confidence in their speaking skills, believing that conversation is key to mastering any language. Having personally learned many languages, I understand the challenges and joys of language learning from a learner's perspective, which helps me relate to my students and guide them effectively. My approach is dynamic and interactive, encouraging students to practice real-life communication while developing their grammar and vocabulary naturally. I strive to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves in their new language.

A becoming teacher in Swedish as a second language, PE and ESL As a teacher I am engaging and caring. I care about students' needs and I do my best in order to help students to reach their goals. A good teacher gives room for the student to speak and to think, and that is what I aim to do when teaching. I get exited every time I can successfully learn a student something new and see a development, it is very rewarding to me. My strengths are my own background as language learner since I know how one can learn a language depending on whether it is supposed to be used in social contexts or at school in more academic situations.

I am a community tutor here on Italki. I have previously tutored pupils at primary schools, and I also tutor nurse students who are moving to Finland. I am a patient, kind and positive teacher. I believe in teaching things that you will actually be able to use in your life. I will help you with topics that you want to learn, and teach you both grammar and vocabulary in a balanced way. When it comes to Finnish, I can teach you both spoken and written Finnish, and we can even dabble in some slang that people use in daily conversations in the capital region.

Teaching to speak like a Finn since 2019✨ As a teacher I am fun, but supportive and patient. I want to focus on every student 100%, my priority is to support your learning the best way I can. To push you to be a better speaker, wether it is Finnish or English, but not to push you too hard. I want to create a relaxed and supportive athmosphere where you don't need to be afraid of making mistakes, and where you can feel confident.

Internationally raised MBA student with a background in early childhood education Most important to me as a teacher is that you try and feel empowered through the learning process. Mistakes are part of the learning journey. I love to challenge my students to take steps beyond what they believe they are capable of. However I don't push you beyond your limits, but I will always help you when I see you are stuck. I also acknowledge our different personalities and will learn the approach you prefer me to have in supporting you, whether it's to give more space or to be more intently present.

Having climbed the “mountain of fluency” in two foreign languages, I know exactly how hard and frustrating the journey can be, but I also know how rewarding and satisfying finally making it to the top is. To me, wrapping your head around a completely new way of thinking that often comes with achieving fluency in a language is one of the best feelings I know, and I want to share it with you. As someone with a strong background in science, my specialty is scientific communication and technical writing. I also think my experience in grappling with abstract scientific concepts has taught me to explain grammatical concepts and semantic nuances in a concise and easily understandable way.

Learning any foreign language requires concentration, desire, and time, and as a teacher, I expect these qualities from my students. Изучение любого иностранного языка требует вашей концентрации, желания и времени, и как преподаватель я требую это от своих студентов

YKI-testi prep available! I believe that in language learning, the main thing is that you talk and communicate as much as you can. When you keep doing that, you can't help but learn to express yourself better in any language! Listening to native level language is also crucial - especially hearing the actual spoken language that natives speak! Spoken Finnish, for example, is quite different from formal Finnish. I'm an emphatic and patient teacher and I can adjust my speaking pace and style to any level. In my lessons, you will feel relaxed and safe. As a music teacher I know that a supportive atmosphere is vital for learning! I'm also more than happy to adjust the lessons to student's needs.

I am very adaptable to what works for you. I can be very demanding and nitpicking until I can't hear a difference compared to a native speaker or I can take a gentler and more encouraging approach.

As a community teacher on Italki, I specialize in teaching Finnish. It is important for me to make the lessons suitable for each student, so I usually discuss students' preferences first and then provide my thoughts on how we should approach learning this language. The key is to keep the learning process interesting and fun, because that makes it also effective.
