Por eso, al principio hay que sumergirse en la estructura del idioma (qué es super interesante! y que además explica un poco la forma de ver el mundo de los finlandeses). As a teacher I am encouraging, and try to activate my students to use as much Finnish as possible. People usually tell me they can be themselves in my company. This no stress state helps them to express themselves better in Finnish as the brain has no reason to activate the sympathetic nervous system (fight/flight/freeze response) which would compromise higher brain functions. I have about 2000 hours of teaching experience, mostly online but also face to face.
