Insegnante in possesso del certificato DITALS I have been studying English and Spanish, so I know from experience that learning a language takes time and dedication. My aim is to make this process as pleasant and fun as possible. I deal with many students around the world by giving language lessons, both in person, at the Italian language school Accademia Leonardo in Salerno, and via Skype. My passion for languages and my studies brought me to understand that languages are not just simple codes ruled by grammatical norms, but that they are actually used to express ourselves as individuals with different backgrounds and cultures.

I have taught both online and in-person classes to students of different ages, levels and purposes. I have experience both in teaching general English and in Cambridge exam preparation (KET, PET, FCE). I also translated English subtitles into Italian for two years (2016-2018).

Es importante conocer las necesidades de mis estudiantes para saber de que modo enfocar las clases; aprender la gramàtica es una herramienta fundamental pero creo que puede hacerse charlando, leyendo textos o artìculos con el estudiante y hablando de ellos; hablar de pelìculas y de la vida y la cotidiana. Aprender una lengua no debe limitarse a los conocimientos de la misma sino que tiene que ver con diferentes culturas, asì que si quieres saber de las mismas, soy la tutora indicada.

I try to be as flexible as possible and adapt to my students' needs. I really believe that motivation is key to learning a language (or anything at all probably). That is why I try to focus on what really interests my students and 'build' on that, whatever it may be – a topic, an objective in the language, a desire to visit a place. That way learning will not feel as something one 'has to' do with all its difficulties but as something one can hopefully enjoy while in the process, while learning things that are relevant to them. So yes, as a joke I that I believe that as in any kind of relationship listening to others and asking them what they wish for is a very good skill in teaching too!
