There are many occasions when we confront a dilemma about whether to choose a challenging plan or a practical one. It is undoubtedly that choosing the former one involves risks and is likely to end up achieving nothing. Nevertheless, nothing ventured, nothing gained. In my opinion, I strongly advice that young people should opt for a challenging plan for their future.
Firstly, formidable tasks can prompt people to work harder. When we set an ambitious goal, which needs strenuous efforts to achieve, we are more likely to develop an iron-willed determination and dogged perseverance. With such high spirits and a burning desire to achieve, we could follow through with the plan more smoothly despite the challenge.
Secondly, it is inevitable that we may encounter failure in the process of tackling challenges. Instead of losing heart and shrinking immediately, we should rise up to the adversity and learn lessons from it. We could find out our shortcomings and rectify it to preventing making the same mistake again. In consequence, improvement will be made.
However, we should make plans based on our own reality. Fancy dreams is somehow far from reality and is unlikely to achieve, making our efforts futile. Worse still, the failure may deal an enormous blow to our confidence and even make it hard for us to recover from the setback.
