How to choose a teacher? The longer I teach, the more I realize how important it is for a teacher and a student to be on the same wave and get along well with each other. In addition, the speed of thinking and the temperament of both sides are important. I first read this idea in Kato Lomb's "How do I Learn Languages?" and it successfully echoed my experience. Have you ever noticed that there are people who are annoying with their way of talking? And those who always chew snot and say one thought for half an hour? It turns out that the speed of our perception highly matters. It is most comfortable for us to communicate with people whose speed of speech is approximately equal to our own. During the learning process, the teacher and the student are constantly forced to communicate, and in the case of foreign languages, communication is generally the ultimate goal of the process. Can you imagine how painful it would be to tell the teacher, who is infuriating with all his being, about how you are doing and how the week has passed (these are standard questions that allow a person to tune in to the language at the beginning of the lesson). Choice of a teacher should be a choice of friend or a person who causes sympathy, with a pleasant pace of speech, then the learning process will only bring pleasure.
