Columba's explanation is correct. In English (USA), we have many idioms that mean the same thing. But I think the one you will hear most often is "six of one, half-dozen of the other." (This is often shortened: "six and one-half dozen.") This is an old phrase, but it is still in use, mostly with people 30 or older. Many people will also say this: "It's all the same to me." Those 30 and younger would use slang such as "whatever." Example 1: Bride-to-be: "Do you think we should have white napkins or off-white napkins at the wedding reception?" Groom-to-be: "It's six of one, half-dozen of the other as far as I'm concerned." Example 2: Person A: "Should we go out to a movie tonight or just stay in and watch a show on TV?" Person B: "Whatever." However, be aware that voice tone can change the meaning of "whatever." If spoken with a negative tone, it can mean "I don't want to argue with you about this" or "Why are why talking about this silly decision when we both know there is a bigger problem we should be talking about?" (For instance, if a couple had an big argument earlier in the day that they had not resolved, and then one asked, "Do you want chicken or fish for dinner?" the other person saying "Whatever" may mean, "I am still angry about our argument earlier and do not want to pretend that is resolved by talking about minor dinner choices." However, if spoken with a neutral or positive tone, "Whatever" just means "Either choice is fine; there are no big benefits or problems with either choice." Finally, "swings and roundabouts" may mean that things will settle to middle ground over time. In this sense, a US-English idiom would be "It will all even out."
