Hi. They are related but slightly different. result from something means it is a direct cause of... "stem from" means caused by/ a contributing factor of a state of affairs

Hi Teresa. To "result from" is the end result or direct outcome of something. For example: A person's behaviour may result from good or bad parenting. To "stem from" means to "begin from" or the cause of something. For example: Her health issues stem from her traumatic childhood.
