Career Conference - CAE REPORT Title or: Careers Conference To: College Principal From: student Bianca Filofteia Subject: Careers Conference Date: November, 17th 2015 The aim of this report is to give information on the two-day Careers Conference which took place in Vancouver Hall. It dealt with expositions that showed over 100 different current jobs worldwide. This was highly recommended for high-school students or those who were still undecided about what career to go for. There were also a few experts to answer any doubt that could arise and ensure that we understand everything. The first observation to make is that the quality of exhibitions was hugely impressive. Some of the pictures were steeped in history, introducing students to the importance of practicing that profession. At the same time, high qualified specialists demonstrated how essential was to get a rewarding, stimulating and challenging job in order to reach one’s goals in life. There is a lot of day-to-day collaboration with your workmates, but sometimes you have to face tight schedules and probably, get to feel in a dead-end job. However, this depends on your personal choice and strength to carry on. They also provided us with useful information that is hardly ever told during some job interviews. The majority of students were totally carried away by such an engaging topic that concerns all of us. Many other issues were brought up at the conference, but we were running out of time and plenty of questions remained unanswered. Fortunately, some assistants suggested creating a website where to post the main doubts and inquisitiveness. Therefore, experts could clarify them in a video. According to the majority of undergraduates who attended the meeting, the exhibition was targeted to a particular professional group, those that had to do mostly with science or medical field careers. In spite of the fact that some students did not feel identified with any of the topics, the given recommendations were widely accepted and available for anyone. I feel it would be to our advantage if this kind of meetings were taken to secondary schools as well, since nearly 70% of the students came from other educational institutions. From the evidence, I conclude that the conference helped us to have real insight into what kind of job requirements are demanded nowadays.

The first observation to make is that the quality of exhibitions was hugely impressive. Some of the pictures were steeped in history, introducing students to the importance of practicing that profession.
At the same time, highly qualified specialists demonstrated how essential it was to get a rewarding, stimulating and challenging job in order to reach one’s goals in life. There is a lot of day-to-day collaboration with your workmates, but sometimes you have to face tight schedules and probably, get to feel in a dead-end job. However, this depends on your personal choice and strength to carry on. [I don't understand this sentence too well]

They also provided us with useful information that is hardly ever told during some job interviews. The majority of students were totally carried away by such an engaging topic that concerns all of us. Many other issues were brought up at the conference, but we were running out of time and plenty of questions remained unanswered. Fortunately, some assistants suggested creating a website where for students to post the main doubts and inquisitiveness. Therefore, experts could clarify them in a video.

According to the majority of undergraduates who attended the meeting, the exhibition was targeted to a particular professional group: those that had to do mostly with science or medical field careers.

In spite of the fact that some students did not feel identified identify with any of the topics, the given recommendations were widely accepted and available relevant for anyone.
I feel it would be to our advantage if this kind of meetings were taken to secondary schools as well, since nearly 70% of the students came from other educational institutions.

From the evidence, I conclude that the conference helped us to have real insights into what kind of job requirements are demanded in-demand nowadays.
