Which sentence is the most appropriate ? When you are offered something, you want to to take it, but with hesitation. In this case, which sentence would you use? How about the following sentences? 1) Thank you, but I don't want to be a problem. 2) Thank you, but only if it's not too much trouble. 3) Thank you, but I hope it's not too much trouble. 4) Thank you, but I don't want to cause any trouble to you.

It is most polite to take it and thank them. if you just can't do it: Thank you; I appreciate it, but I do not want to be a bother. Thanks again for the offer.

They are all very polite I would use 3 By the way if you want to say it more casualy, to your friends you can say Oh, Are you sure? Is that okay?

Sentence number 1 and 3 sound the most natural, though 3 sounds a little more polite. "Thank you. I hope it's not too much trouble" is pretty common.

I would prefer the last sentence which is 4.
