Since you've alreadt gotten Rjcorraya's great answer, I'd like to add some more. Mostly, we have several translations for each sentence depends on the situation, so I'll write the most understandable one. (We have the formal and the formal ways to say, I'll write in the formal one. If you need the informal one, please let me know.) 5. Are you hungry? --> Onaka ga suite imasu ka? / Onaka ga suki mashita ka? 6. Do you want something to drink? --> Nanika nomitai desu ka? 8. How far is that? --> (distance) Dono kurai no kyori ga arimasu ka? --> (time to get the place) Dono kurai no jikan ga kakari masu ka? 9. Did you work today? --> Kyou wa shigoto wo shimashita ka? 11. Do you need anything? --> Nani ka hitsuyou desu ka? 12. It's beautiful today isn't it? --> Kyou ha ii otenki desu ne. 14. I'll get it. (when the phone or door bell rings) --> Watashi ga demasu. (you'll understand something) --> Wakaru to omoi masu. 16. Where are you from? (which contry are you from) --> Doko kara kimashi ta ka? (which country / state / city were you born in) --> Doko no shusshin desu ka? 24. Do you want to do something? --> Nani ka shitai desu ka? 26. What do you do? --> Nani wo shimasu ka? * What are you doing? --> Nani wo shite irun desu ka? 28. Can you pass me the ...? --> ... wo totte kuremasu ka? 29. I'll have... (express what you are going to eat / drink) -> ... wo tabe masu / ... wo nomi masu. (ask / order something to someone) --> ... wo kudasai. 30. How much? (price) --> Ikura desu ka? (quantity) --> Dono kurai desu ka? / Dono kurai ari masu ka? I hope this was helpful.

<...continued> Part-2 ______ 27. What time is it?=> "Ima nan ji desu ka?" (*"Ima" means "now". So, "What time is it NOW?") 28. Can you pass me the ...?=> "...wo kudasai." 29. I'll have...=> "...wo onegai shimasu" 30. How much?=> *Isn't it similar to the next one?! Or, did you want to mean something else? 31. How much is it?=> "Ikura desu ka" (<-when asking for the price) 32. Do you take credit cards?=> "kurejitto kaado wa tsukae masu ka?" 33. What do you want to drink?=> "Nani wo nomitai desu ka?" 34. What do you want to eat?=> "Nani wo tabetai desu ka?" 35. How do you say _____ in _______?=> "____ wa _____ de dō iimasu ka?" (*Example: How do you say "apple" in Japanese? =>"Apple" wa Nihongo de dō iimasu ka?) 36. How is it?=> "Dou desu ka?"; More formal=> "Ikaga desu ka?" Yay! I guess I was able to translate more than I thought I could! However, even though I am pretty sure that all of them are pretty correct and natural, I DO wish that a native Japanese speaker will verify them too and also fill in the missing ones. Anyway, I wish that I could help you. Until next time. (^ ^)

It's gonna be tough, but I am going to try my best to answer as much as I can! Assuming that you can't read Japanese yet, I am going to write them in Romaji (Japanese in English characters). Also, I will write all of them in FORMAL Japanese, the kind that you will be using with people you don't know or meeting for the first time (since I saw in your profile that you like to travel and thought that you would meet new people all the time!) Since there are word limits for each answers (2000 characters per answer), I am going to write them in 2 parts. Part 1 ________ 2. What's up?=> "Dou shitan desu ka?" (in case you want to know the informal of this one it's=> "dou shita no?") 3. How are you?=> "O genki desu ka?" 4. Where do you want to go?=> "Doko e ikitaidesu ka?" 5. Are you hungry? 6. Do you want something to drink?=> "Nanika nomi masu ka ?" 7. What do you want to do?=> "Nani o shitain desu ka?" 8. How far is that?=> "Sore wa dono kurai deshou ka?" [<-I'm not very sure about this one though!] 9. Did you work today?=> "Kyō wa shigoto shimashita ka?" 10. How was work?=> "Shigoto wa dōdeshita ka?" 11. Do you need anything?=> "Nani ga hitsuyōna no deshou ka?" 12. It's beautiful today isn't it?=> "Kyō wa utsukushii desu ne!" 13. Do you like...?=> "...ga suki desu ka?" 14. I'll get it. 15. Do you live nearby?=> "Chikaku ni sunde imasu ka?" 16. Where are you from?=> "Doko kara kita no desu ka?" 17. How do you like...?=> "...wa dō desu ka?" 18. Thanks.=> "Arigatō". *Thank you very much=> "Arigatō Gozaimasu". 19. I appreciate it.=> "Kansha shite imasu" 20. See you later.=> "Mata ato de". *Depending on situations there are more ways to say this. 21. Have a great day.=> "Yoi ichinichi wo" 22. What are you doing tonight?=> "Kon'ya, nani wo shimasu ka?" 23. What are you doing this weekend? "Konshū-matsu, nani wo shimasu ka?" 24. Do you want to do something?=> "Nani ga yaritai nandesu ka" 25. How's it taste?=> "Aji wa dou desu ka?" 26. What do you do? <...continued>
