The full quotation is: "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." It was said by Winston Churchill as part of a famous speech praising the efforts of the Royal Air Force during the Battle of Britain. It sounds like a (poor) paraphrase of Winston Churchill's famous quote: Never was so much owed by so many to so few. So if it intends the same meaning, then the phrases are inverted - your version is attempting to say that never have so many given so much for so few. But the word order is wrong. the original quote was referring to the valiant efforts of the Royal Air Force in fending off the Germans during WWII.
