Did I hear correctly? "mei cuo" When I'm listening to an online radio station in Mandarin Chinese, and the host is talking to a guest, I sometimes hear the host say something which sounds a bit like "may tsor" (my english interpretation), which I think is maybe "mei cuo" (pinyin). It seems to be a very common saying, I seem to hear this all the time. It's not part of a larger sentence, instead the guest says something, and then the host quickly responds "mei cuo", and then the guest says something else. I looked it up in a dictionary and it said "méi cuò" ( 没错) means "That's right" or "Sure!" or "That's good". Did I hear it correctly ? Is this the correct word, and is it a common saying? Or did the host actually say something different?

It's a strong way of saying "yes, that's right". You'll also hear the phrase 話是這麽説沒錯 which is like "yeah, it's like that" or "yeah, it's just like what you said" or "yeah, indeed" Just a note, something that took me a long to time realise is that 不錯 (literally "not bad") really means "really rather good". That's also a very common way of praising something or complementing somebody 你中文說得真不錯!

You are right, here to answer your question I could use this word 没错,usually Chinese people would like to say 没错 or 对 instead of 是,and it is very common way to express your agreement with someone which means that's right.

meicuo没错=that's right,it expresses an agreemenent with someone Ex:“Chinese will eat rice dumplings on the Dragon Boat Festival. (中国人会在端午节吃粽子)” “meicuo没错, rice dumpling is a traditional food for this festival” Whether asking a question or just stating a fact, u can reply "meicuo" For what u asked above——"Did I hear it correctly ? Is this the correct word, and is it a common saying?", I can also reply"meicuo没错" Besides, we also say"dui 对""shi de 是的"instead
