The Wade book of etymology says that perhaps the word comes from Old Russian хоробр (see храбрый: courageous), meaning strong, daring, the "бр" evolving in "ш" to give "хорош". The courage being something positive, good, the word has taken that meaning over time...

One of the versions is that the word "хорошо" came to the Old East Slavic from the Scythians, then the word entered the Russian language. Not sure if that's true, but sounds logical.

In russian it's mean good or OK&alright for example:Эта вещь хорошего качества-It's good quality item.Or:Хорошо, я все понял!-Alright, im understand this!

В данном случае выделяется корень ХОР, который так же присутствует и в других русских словах. Его лексическое значение, высокий. Отсюда хорошо - это высшая, или более высокая степень чего либо. Другие слова с этим корнем: хорс - имя древнерусского бога солнца, храбрый (хоробрый), хоромы - высокий дом, храм (видимо от хоромы),

К сожалению, этимология слова "хорошо" не установлена, по тем источникам, которые я просмотрел.
