tracking progress in English and having a study plan up to C2 Hello! I am going to ask a question that is crucial to/for me. I've been learning English since 1994. I am not satisfied with my current English level at all. My goal is C2. The way I see my progress is to constantly track my progress and its speed. I've even wrote a chart (see the photo). I guess for this I need a tutor who could make up a study plan from my current B2/C1 level to C2 level. I really need to see this learning plan as well as to track my progress. What is the best way to track my progress every single week? Could you give me some pieces of advice on how to put this scheme into practice? Link to the chart http://i.piccy.info/i9/fa780faacbb46d441c89cb0b0c0286f6/1589358807/105197/1366345/photo_2020_05_13_08_57_32.jpg or https://ibb.co/r2QZ7jP Thank you so much!

And, Sasha, what seems to be the problem with reaching such a high level so far? Is perfection your standard? Well, even native speakers make mistakes, slur words, and have variations in their grammar or more. Is language a way of communication, engagement with society and friends, interaction, etc. or is it a physical statistical thing that can be measured accurately? Is measurement the real measure of progress? Does a test reveal to you the test results or does it show you also what cannot be tested. Maybe you need TayTay's advice (Taylor Swift) "you need to chill out" Relax a bit, chill, is it really that important? Maybe you want to visit London, and then you meet a sexy Irish chick or an Aussie shiela and can't work out her accent, let alone the strange new words she gives you; but it's still English. How to put your scheme into practice? Make friends, speak no other language at all, and delve into an English book club or other D&M conversations about obtuse topics. Come sailing with me and learn a few new words you won't learn in any other context. And some you will. (d&m = deep and meaningful). Get into a fight, a word fight on some controversial topic, or complain about something. Then you'll know your English is good enough.

I'm not particularly in favour of tracking language level scientifically, because it's a very subjective level. Judging someone as B2 or C1 means nothing in real life, just that they passed one test one day. Having said that, if you equate C2 to "perfect" native speaking level (which by the way, virtually NO native speakers achieve in their lifetimes...), then you can get scientific by measuring distance to 100%, where distance is the number of objective errors. You would need to track 4 distinct areas: listening, speaking, writing, and reading: * Listening: use a variety of sources (tv programs, radio, audiobooks, informal youtube videos or interviews). Listen at normal speed for the first time, and truthfully measure how many words per hour you did not understand. This is an objective measure that you can track. You might want to track different media separately (rap music is 1000x harder than a interview with a politician...). * Writing: use a variety of styles, write without a dictionary, and get them corrected. Can you write formal and informal styles (say, a news report vs a love letter vs a movie review), and get them corrected by a native? Then you can track number of errors objectively. You get the idea, similar for speaking (you'll need a teacher or very good native speaker to pick up errors and count them up while you speak at natural speed with them!) and reading (easiest one to do). This will absolutely not judge if you're native level in terms of natural conversation in a noisy place, and it will not tell you if you are C2 or not (C2 is just decided on the basis of your knowledge of one exam on one day, so if the qualification is important to you, then this scientific method will not do much to progress you towards that goal), but if you absolutely need a chart with numbers, that's how I would do it.

You're dedicated, and best of all, you have a plan. I like that. If a concrete level is what you want, I would think one of the tools you need is a website that lets you take frequent exams. I want to offer my help. I am responsive with quick questions.

ходит Буратино по озеру и повторяет "ну почему нырнуть не получается?!" сертификат С1 есть или "йащитаю"?
