@Lerner I think there is a misunderstanding in concept. I was talking about the American oral language, we call it the reduced sound. It is neither the idiom nor the slang. Sample of Standard American Pronunciation: " h" sound is reduced : Did he? pronounce Didee?., Does she ( Duzzy)?., Was he (Wuzzy) ?., Is he (Izzy)?., Would he (Woody)?. - Wouldn't you (wooden chew)? t_y change to ch sound - Could you tell (kuje tell) d_y change to j sound - I will let you know ( I'll letcha know) Here, you can see, these pronounciations are the sounds not the English words. - I godda go cos its_ae. ( I got to go because it is late) - I godda go cuz its_ae. ( I got to go because it is late) The cos and cuz means because, where as, I've a cuz. here, it sound like I have a cousin

'Cos (not cuz) and 'cause can be be used as short forms of 'because'. They are conjunctions or linkers used in informal or spoken English. 'Cos (UK) 'Cause (US)

Regarding internet usage: People use "cuz" all the time in chats instead of "because", whether it's correct or not, it's being used that way.

Encarter Dictionary defines Cuz is a nonstandard word for because. But, it is not in the Webster. Webster defnes cos is the abbreviation for companies, consul, cosine, countries. I agree with Mr. Wozitoya. The American people speak differently, the way we speak is not taught in school. But, please don't used it in writting.

The word 'cuz' was used by Shakespeare as a shortened form of cousin in his play Romeo and Juliet.
