Hello Hottoh,
They are quite the opposite.
When you are in a place and you move from it to another then you 'go' ,while when you arrive to a certain place when you were in another you 'come'.
Examples:
"I have to go now."
I have to move from where I am to another place.
" He is coming in a while."
He will arrive from another place to where the speaker is now in a while."
'I slept' or ' i was asleep' are both correct, but have different meanings.
'I slept' means I fell asleep , the action of going from the state of being awake to the state of being asleep.
" I slept for 7 hours."
It means I went into the state of being asleep and it lasted for 7 hours."
'I was asleep' describes the state ,when one is sleeping ,during that period of time..
" I was asleep ,when he entered the room suddenly and I woke up ."
When I was in the state of sleeping, he entered the room...
And by the way My Language Tutor 22 is using the same source as me , 'self' , but how come we end up with different texts ? ;)
