Languages are like apples & pears aren't they? Each language has its own unique features, which you could call pros & cons, but one man's trash is another man's treasure, so it's hard to rank them, and if we do, it's going to be based on very personal preferences, and of course it's liable to offend people deeply. Some languages are good for functionality in the modern world, like English, Mandarin, Spanish, etc due to numbers of speakers. Some languages, like Cantonese, Thai and Brazilian Portuguese, I have more affinity with - I like their flow and vibe more. I find them more soothing for the soul. They have a vibrational healing effect on me. I like languages that flow smoothly, have evolved naturally, and retain their ancient semantic roots. I dislike modern manufactured languages that are enforced nationally, wiping out regional dialects like a form of cultural genocide. How about yourself? What do you prefer and why?
