Hi there! I'm Mariana, your Brazilian English tutor with a passion for helping others master the language. Though I’m based in Brazil now, I spent 7 amazing years in the United States, where I had the chance to meet people from all corners of the world. Not only did I perfect my English, but I also picked up Spanish along the way. I graduated with honors in Business Administration, earned my MBA, and even spent two years working for a global automotive company, which really sharpened my business English.
Nowadays, I run my own company, helping student-athletes from around the globe secure athletic scholarships and pursue a degree.

With over 3 years of experience and more than 3000 lessons taught, I have had the privilege of guiding students of all levels in both English and Portuguese. My teaching journey has allowed me to work with a diverse range of learners, from beginners building foundational skills to advanced students seeking.
Throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of effective teaching methodologies and how to create engaging, interactive lessons that make language learning enjoyable and rewarding. From day one, we will dive right into activities to help you start using the language in real-life situations. Our first lesson will be all about understanding your specific needs, so we can create a class plan just for you. My classes are dynamic and fun, designed to keep you engaged and motivated throughout your learning journey.

My first lesson with Mariana felt like catching up with an old friend! Conversation was easy, and she made me feel empowered and comfortable to start learning Portuguese from scratch. She is also fluent in English and Spanish so she was able to customize the class to my specific learning needs, as I am a native English speaker living in South America who speaks Spanish every day and is now adding Portuguese to the mix. Highly recommend!!

Meu Deus do cééééééuuuuu!!
I cannot even described in words how happy I am after my first lesson with Mariana. I am living in Brazil and a huge problem of mine is confidence when speaking and being spoken to. I freeze!
Mariana, is a gift. She made me feel more comfortable than anyone I have ever spoken to in Brazil and on Italki. I had SO MUCH fun with her, I felt like I could relate to her as well so I didn't feel so alone in my language journey. Her English is excellent and she is very knowledgable. But, she spoke the perfect balance of English to Portuguese as per my request.
As the end she gave me great constructive feedback, any words I didn't know, she wrote them in the chat for me. I am extremely confident I am going to grow a lot with Mariana.
My lesson was beyond perfect. I couldn't ask for anything more! Mariana is my permanent teacher moving forward. I can't wait until our next lesson next week!
