My name is Mera and I’m a native English speaker from New York, United States of America. I have over 10 years of experience teaching English both offline and online. I moved to Southeast Asia, where I was offered a job teaching English as a second language at an international school in Bali, Indonesia. Over the years, I’ve developed effective language learning methods designed to help my students become confident and proficient conversationalists in English. I taught English at an international school in Bali before transitioning to online teaching in March 2022. With years of experience in IELTS & TOEFL exam preparation, group conversations, and general ESL lessons, I provide guidance, encouragement, and valuable resources to help my students articulate their thoughts clearly, professionally, and naturally. I assist students in replacing basic or repetitive words with more sophisticated vocabulary and expressions commonly used by Americans. Additionally, I offer a variety of speaking activities beyond casual conversation and encourage students to share their specific preferences.Мои уроки и стиль преподавания
I will ask you questions about your profession, education, country, travel experiences, hobbies, goals in learning English, personal opinions on various topics and current events. During our Zoom sessions, I’ll share my screen and guide you in choosing a topic from a conversation website with useful vocabulary lists and related questions. I’ll provide corrections and suggestions for your vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar, which I’ll type in the italki chat for you to review later. Additionally, you’ll have full access to my 'Conversation Lesson' Google Drive folder, which includes transition words, phrases, expressions, various conversation topics, and IELTS speaking practice questions.Мой учебный материал

I had several dozen lessons with Mera. Mera is a very active teacher. She is prepared for every lesson. She is open to new ideas and encourages students to choose new conversation topics. But if students can't think of an idea, don’t worry, Mera always provides high-quality materials for many different topics. Mera's style is focused on natural talking because language is essentially talking. It's one way to check my words. Get cracking!
