I was born in Australia, but I have become a person of the world. When I was 27 years old I moved to England, where I lived for seven years and Scotland for five, before moving to Spain, where I continue to live today. I am married to a Spanish girl and speak Spanish quite well, so it can be easier to explain things to Spanish students if they have any doubts.
I have written five books and done some acting on stage. I am interested in history and the environment. I have an open mind, so I enjoy exploring new ideas and different cultures.
For students, I have a podcast on italki and I usually put a new one up each week. I also have a YouTube channel, "The Social Evolutionary".Показать перевод

I have eighteen years experience teaching English. I have taught private one-on-one classes, in academies and online.
I have a “Received Pronunciation” accent, which many people think of as an English accent, but it is like a correct, standard form of speaking, which can help in listening.
Something that I love about teaching on italki is having had the opportunity to meet students from all parts of the world. I respect, and I am interested in, different cultures, religions, races and politics. I believe learning languages can help us understand others, which is so important in this world today.

My style of teaching comes from own experience learning a language, Spanish. I have two children who are bilingual and it has been useful to observe how they learn… and with ZERO grammar! They have learnt by listening and using the language.
So in my classes we do a lot of intensive practice. I usually find an article from the news to read and discuss. This helps with learning pronunciation, which can be very difficult when a word does not sound how it is written. It helps to learn new words and expressions – we have different forms of saying things. We also describe photos, to practice flexibility in speaking and finding ways to continue communicating, even if we have a limited vocabulary.Мой учебный материал

En esta sesión hemos corregido un articulo que yo había escrito previamente, me ha corregido los errores y sugerido otras formas de expresarlo. Después he descrito una foto y para finalizar hemos hablado un poco acerca de como va el país.
Además he aprendido nuevo vocabulario y me ha explicado cosas nuevas de gramática que me ayudarán a no cometer errores. Tiene una manera de explicar muy sencilla que hace que entiendas las cosas fácilmente.
