Nasira Erguin

Nasira is a great teacher! She is supportive and patient, and a really fun person to talk to, as well. She is organized, yet flexible, so you can find a time slot that suits both of you. We are following the Arian A1.1 textbook, which is good for beginners. Our classes are in Spanish, and my Spanish is (as I hope) around B1, with some listening and speaking practice. Nasira speaks clearly and I understand her explanations pretty well. Overall, Nasira seems excited about languages: she knows a lot about Basque and is willing to answer curiosity questions about the language, can explain you the etymology of the Basque words and provide a glimpse of the more advanced grammar that is not yet the topic of your lesson. Sometimes she would also explain me what a particular Spanish word means, which is also super helpful :)

Learning Catalan with Nasira has been a blessing. Her natural talent for teaching combined with her extensive preparation makes each lesson feel like I am making real progress. She is a true polyglot, with a deep knowledge of multiple languages including Basque, Catalan, Spanish and English. This understanding, not only of the challenges faced by every language learner, but also of the similarities and differences between closely related romance languages, has helped both the depth and speed of understanding. I can't recommend Nasira enough, especially if you want to learn the fundamentals of your target language properly.

It was a nice introduction. Nasira seems very nice and friendly and a great teacher.

Another great lesson with Nasira as always. She always makes the lesson feel so comfortable that I in turn feel comfortable to express myself about my doubts in Catalan. She knows how to guide the lesson with a mixture of conversation, grammar and linguistic knowledge in a way I don’t see often on Italki. It’s a pleasure to share our mutual passion for Romance languages.
