Hi English learners, I'm Jon! I'm from Cambridge, in the UK. I love learning languages, and I love people. So, of course, I love teaching English to international students! I've been doing this work for 28 years, and I still really enjoy it. When I'm not teaching, I'm usually travelling, walking in nature or practising mindfulness.Показать перевод

In the last 28 years, I've taught mostly teenagers (in a private school in Cambridge) and adults (in a language school in the UK, plus in Germany and India).
I've taught almost every kind of Engish. Lots of exams (mostly IELTS and Cambridge exams), but also I've helped many students with Business Engish and English for conversation.
I was an IELTS examiner for nine years, which I loved - testing students for speaking and writing.
I've also taught in and managed a UK summer school for many years, where I worked with children from 12 to 16 years old.

My style changes, depending on the student's needs.
If you want business, we'll do lots of speaking, including role-plays. Meetings, presentations, negotiating, disagreeing politely - we will do all this, while also increasing your vocabulary. REAL business vocab (For example "Can you TWEAK this presentation, so the customer can see how LASER-FOCUSED we are?"
If we're working on exams, I'll write model writing task answers for you, so you can see exactly how to write a perfect answer.
And if it's a speaking class, we'll do a lot of real talking, in different situations.
Unlike some teachers, I always help my students to correct their mistakes.

DELTA - Cambridge ESOL - 2004This is the advanced English language teaching qualification. The basic course which most teachers do is the CELTA. I did that first, but then I also completed and passed the DELTA, which is twice as long as the CELTA course.

I'm preparing for the PET exam with Jon. Jon is the best teacher I've ever had. He is very professional and adapts the teaching material individually to my level of knowledge. He always gives corrective feedback and is encouraging at the same time. Thanks to him, I now have more confidence to speak English. The lesson documentation that he sends after each lesson makes it easier to repeat what has been learned. He explains everything clearly and the lessons are fun. I'm very glad I found Jon here.

We had a class devoted to IELTS Writing. I really enjoyed how everything went, from discussing my learning goals to receiving feedback on my speaking and writing. All in all, the class was very intensive and useful.

Had a great first lesson with Jon. He is friendly, patient and supportive, and speaks clearly with a good English accent, so I didn’t have any trouble in listening. In the lesson, he provided me feedback and suggestions on how I can work on my spoken English.
