Very good experience. Helps me remember Japanese, conducts the lesson as much as possible in Japanese and points out the Mandarin equivalent where possible. The teacher prepares materials in advance that are appropriate for the level and for the purpose of the learning. Overall really strong recommendation, especially if you already have some Chinese knowledge as the teacher provides equivalent Chinese constructions where appropriate.

Having Crystal as my Chinese teacher for the past two years has been such a treat! Her love for the language and teaching really shines through, making each lesson a joy to attend. What I love most about Crystal's way of teaching is how she brings in elements of my own hobbies and life into our lessons. It's like I'm learning Chinese through my own stories! I also learned a lot of interesting facts and stories relating to Chinese culture. And Crystal has got this knack for making tricky parts of the language feel easy and I've come so far thanks to her. Sugoi desu ne! I'm a beginner and feel like I'd want to take as many lessons with Crystal as possible. My lesson with her was really amazing. She is very thorough, kind and patient. She explains things in great detail (which is exactly what I need). Her lessons are also very encouraging. She's a natural teacher and has a very deep understanding of the Japanese language and how to teach it! After my lesson with Crystal, I feel encouraged to learn more! Really looking forward to more lessons. =)

Crystal is a very patient and encouraging teacher. She picks out quite quickly which areas I tend to stumble in my pronunciation and she helps me to correct them by providing the right resources and breaking things down for me. She patiently helps me to repeat small parts and build on it until I manage. Her gentleness and patience create a learning environment where I am not afraid to make mistakes, which is very important in learning a language.
