Hello! My name is Silvia, I am a native Spanish speaker from Granada, Spain. I am currently living in London, United Kingdom working as Spanish teacher. Moreover, I am a traveller, most of my free time I am travelling or learning a new language, like right now I am learning French. I would like to achieve a Proficiency Level to be totally bilingual in Spanish and English.
Teaching and language learning are my vocations and I do love both. That is why I want to share my passion with all of you. I have learnt languages by traveling and talking to native speakers! also thanks to italki lessons ;)Показать перевод

As a teacher, I am fun and dynamic. I believe that learning a language should be about engaging your students into activities and giving them plenty of opportunities to talk. I am a tech-savvy that is why I use different online resources (google classroom, google drive, Skype, flashcards, kahoot) to make the most out of my classes. I also adapt the material to every student, there are no two classes which are exactly the same because every person will learn the language at a different pace. It is important for me as a teacher to be motivational and express this motivation to the rest. My lessons are full of variety to make sure nobody gets bored during the classes. I follow and put into practice 2 methodologies: the communicative approach and the Task-based approach. Meaning that I give plenty of opportunities for the students to talk, looking for fluency and accuracy and also I will send them different tasks to deal with them together, so that they learn how to solve realistics situations in the language they are learning on their own. All the material I am using is authentic, from magazines, newspapers, flashcards, videos on youtube, instagram, daily conversations with friends or letters about serious matters. Silvia was incredibly helpful in boosting my Spanish capabilities especially in speaking! She always has a lesson plan, and adapts it based on what is happening in school, so I can be prepared for tests and be ahead of the class. She will also clarify any doubts I am having in school, and revise those topics.

Silvia is awesome! She pushes me to reach a higher level of conversation each lesson! She allows me to choose what topic I want to discuss and prepares follow up activities that are engaging and allow me to practice my conversation skills more in depth!

Silvia is a really patient and upbeat teacher. I am struggling to sometimes remember basic A1 level Spanish even though I am technically A2 and she is really good at picking up on what I should revise on. I like that she assigns homework (which I requested as well) so that I can continue to practice Spanish in my spare time. She even recommended a song lyric helper website to help me practice listening to Spanish music, which has been very difficult for me as of now. Cool teacher! :)
