Hi! 👋 I’m a Canadian-Italian citizen with a strong background in business and finance. I've lived in Monaco, China, Italy, Hungary, Mexico, Spain (where I had an apartment for 10 years) and Antigua recently.
I’ve worked as a commodities trader for the past 24 years and since 2017, I’ve also been teaching French and Québécois to learners of all levels, in person and online.
Regardless of your current proficiency, I can help you improve your French skills. I provide explanations in French or English to suit your needs. My English proficiency was certified at a C2 level after taking the Oxford Online Placement Test.

My lessons are designed to help you achieve your personal, academic, or professional goals. Each lesson is customized to meet your specific needs and objectives. We can use 15 lengthy and thorough dialogues that I have written, or any other content. We can combine lessons with conversations, describing images, writing exercises, etc.
I have worked with a diverse range of students, including doctors, engineers, architects, students, retirees, researchers, linguists, job seekers, government employees, companies, and NGOs.

Merci beaucoup M. Normandeau :) Dans ce cours, nous avons lu un texte intéressant et après, nous avons parlé du texte. (Mon niveau est A2 mais vous pouvez me faire parler un peu et j'apprécie vraiment)

Francois was very patient and kind. He asked me questions about my language level and how I wanted to learn and based the lesson off of that. I felt very calm during his session as he went over the material at a rate I could understand. If you're a beginner, I would highly recommend him!

Hacía mucho tiempo que no hablaba francés y le agradezco a François la conversación que tuvimos. Hablamos sobre diferentes temas actuales y me sentí con la confianza necesaria para retomar mi conocimiento del idioma, un poquito oxidado. François habla de forma muy clara y fue muy amable conmigo al corregir o al traducir palabras que yo le decía en español y que yo ya no recordaba cómo se decían en francés. En general, la clase de prueba fue una experiencia muy agradable y, en el futuro, espero tomar más clases con François. Merci beaucoup!

This was my first italki trial and I enjoyed it. François used pictures and asked questions to assess my current facility with French. He made me feel somewhat knowledgeable, very encouraging. We set a preliminary plan. I look forward to more.
