I’m from Saitama, Japan, and I currently live in Mexico. Since 2017, I have been working as a professional Japanese teacher, teaching many students at universities and language schools in Mexico.
Seeing my students achieve their dreams and goals through learning Japanese always inspires and motivates me. I would love to help people understand different cultures and strengthen global connections through language.

My lessons focus not on traditional grammar-based approaches,
but on what you can actually do in Japanese, adopting an action-oriented method.
From my experience teaching over 500 students at universities in Mexico and elsewhere,
I’ve found this to be the most effective way to help students become confident speakers.
Each lesson is tailored to individual goals and levels, helping students build practical
Japanese skills they can use with confidence.

In my lessons, I use the Marugoto or Irodori textbook for beginner students.
These textbooks are based on the latest theories of second language acquisition
and is highly effective.
It incorporates abundant audio input and a lesson structure designed to encourage
learners to discover and understand concepts on their own.
Many students have improved their conversational skills through learning with this textbook.
For free conversation lessons, I focus on supporting effective practice in output, which is essential for improving speaking skills.
In a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, you can apply what you’ve learned and

This was my 100th lesson with Ayako-san! I started almost from scratch, and now I can understand and say so many things. Of course, my vocabulary is still limited, but I can actually communicate with Japanese people. That was my goal, and slowly achieving it brings me so much joy. I still cannot believe I have come this far in my Japanese learning journey, especially since I study it as a hobby and don’t have the chance to use it daily. I think this was possible thanks to Ayako-san’s calm and fun approach. My lessons became a relaxing part of my evenings rather than feeling like the effort of studying a subject, and this really helped me keep going.

Ayako sensei is a fantastic teacher, one of the best here on italki that I’ve ever had in fact. Her lessons are always fun, educational and relaxed, at the same time. We joke and laugh a lot, having fun while learning, making it feel almost effortless. She always gives me enough time to try to first find my own way to convey what I want to say in Japanese, instead of ”putting words in my mouth”, and offers corrections and help when needed, which means that I get a lot of practice in actually speaking and improving my conversational abilities and independence. I can’t recommend Ayako sensei enough! Give her lessons a try, you won’t regret it!
