Soo-Hyang Baek

Soo-hyang is a really kind, energetic teacher! I am taking lessons to prepare to attend my friend’s wedding in Korea, so I learned a lot about Korean wedding culture and words and comments to use at weddings. I really enjoyed the lesson and I look forward to taking another class and slowly improving my speaking skills!

Today we went through words related to theme parks like buying tickets, queuing, lost+found etc.

Today we learned more about ordering (with requests like changing the milk/ removing whip cream etc). And also asking for recommendations. Really useful phrases and words! :)

Really challenging but fun class today. We learned some words and questions related to travelling on the Korean subway. And also when eating in a restaurant.

Soo Hyang 선생님 has catered the lessons to my goals and needs. We are focussing on basic conversation skills that I can use for my upcoming trip to Korea. I am doing 30mins class which sounds short but we get a lot done in this time. Today we covered, some airport words and also how to ask for help.

Soo Hyang-ssi is an excellent teacher who puts a lot of effort to prepare lesson plans & notes beforehand based on my requested content. During the lesson, she types notes into the chat for easy reference. She is very knowledgeable about cultural and linguistic nuances and able to explain these clearly. The lessons are a good balance of her explanations and opportunities for me to practice speaking. She is very patient and encouraging, as well as cheerful and energetic. The pace of the lesson is very good -- energy level and interest remain high throughout, but never overwhelming.
